| My sister finally came back to the world of xanga so I feel the least I can do is a token entry. I am completely unemployed at the current moment. My last day at Changs was July 31. It was a little bitter, but mostly sweet. I will definitely miss the people with whom I worked. People came out that night at Sunset to mourn my departure; well it was more likely to celebrate, but nonetheless. It was a pretty good showing and I felt loved. Since then I have been hanging out, not accomplishing much. I am almost done with the second season of Veronica Mars for the second time. I have also gone to a Durham Bulls game with Matt, Sam, Corey, and Ryan. I do love sporting events. Tonight I am going to see the Bourne Ultimatum with Danielle. Camp starts Monday morning. I will be a counselor for the first week, which will be a 6-8th grad week. After that, I will be on support staff for the last two weeks. I am definitely looking forward to it. I am a little nervous about being a counselor. However, I am excited to be the cool counselor. Now I just need door decorations and some ideas for devotions. After camp I will pick up my Mom in Richmond, then head back to Durham. We will spend a few days packing up all of my belongings before the big move on August 29th. Now I just need a job. Wish me luck. Alright, enough for now. Buh bye all my faithful readers. (Note the sarcasm given I have not actually written on xanga in months.) | | |
| Random update because I'm stalling going to bed. I don't really know why considering I am exhausted, but since when have my sleep patterns made sense.
- I'm having an I hate my job week. I still work about 40 hours a week. I am constantly tired and my feet hurt. The paycheck is nice though. Why can't I be independently wealthy?
- Going to camp this weekend to work a retreat for the first time in 2007. Excited, but a little worried the early mornings will kill me given the constant state of exhaustion previously mentioned. Don't know if anyone else is working either. Hmm, definitely bringing books and maybe a few DVDs.
- Next weekend Steve, Corey and Paul are sleeping on my living room floor. I am very excited. We are going to a hockey game Saturday night. I think it will be Corey and Steve's fifth NHL venue this year, but don't hold me to that.
- I have to decide for sure what I am doing come August when the lease runs out by the end of this month. That's difficult if you know anything about me and therefore understand that my level of indecisiveness could almost be considered a phobia of decisiveness. Should I stay or should I go? I'll probably go. I've been saying that for months . . . then considered staying . . . then . . . well you get the point.
I think I should go to bed now. Goodnight.

| This was actually a myspace thing, but since this person always reads my xanga I thought I'd post it here.
21 Questions About Your #1 (friend on myspace)
1)Who is your #1?
Steve Spillan
2) Have you ever met their mom? No we haven't, though once upon a time he said that his mom didn't like me and I have no desire to incur the wrath of Mama Spillan.
3) Where did you first meet?
I'm sure we actually met before this, but we claim our "first" to be the day that I threw yellow squash at him at TDR.
4) How old were you when you first met?
I assume he was a freshman in college and I was a sophomore so 18 and 19 probably.
5) Is this person one of your best friends?
Umm, unfortunately I would probably have to answer that as a yes.
7) Is this person older than you?
No.
8) When was the last time u saw them?
Not this past weekend, but the weekend before that. I spent a lot of time on his couch.
9) Name one good memory?
Other than the squash incident? It is one of my favorites. How about a memory that makes me laugh. We used to drink at my apartment when I was in grad school and after one incident I started taking the vodka to my room when I went to sleep. I'm sure he wouldn't say that was a good memory, but it is one that makes me laugh.
10) Are you related to this person?
No.
11) When will you see them again?
I'm sure sometime during soccer season. Vamos United!
12) Does this person have a cell phone/text messaging?
Of course. Who doesn't?
13) Are you their b/f or g/f?
No.
14) Do you have nicknames for each other?
Ummm, I usually just say his name in a really whiney voice because I want something from him. There's also Spillman, from Halo, Spillan, Steven which is the full name I rarely break out, and a few obcenities inappropriate to post on the internet. =)
15) Do you have pics of this person on your myspace?
No. I have barely any pictures of either of us, much less together, since neither of us are huge fans of photos.
16) How many times do you talk/write to this person in a week?
Once every few weeks unless we are talking get togethers.
17) Do you think the person will repost this?
Maybe. Who knows. Sometimes he gets bored at work.
18) Could you live with this person?
Haven't I already? I've been sleeping on his couch for the past three years for weekends at a time. Doesn't that count?
19) Do you 2 hang out often?
Once every few months at the least. Sports brings us together so hockey and soccer games may warrant more frequent visits.
20) Have you seen this person cry?
I don't think so.
21) Why is this person #1 on your top 8?
When I originally got myspace he was one of my favorite people also on it. Scary isn't it? Steve is my number one friend . . . on myspace.
Now repost this as:
Can you answer 21 questions about your number 1???

- I've started working about 40 hours a week for the first time since I moved to NC. It's kinda sick. Today was my third 10+ hour day in a row. My feet hurt . . . a lot . . . often.
- I am driving to DC this weekend to visit my fun friends. Looking forward to having JD and Steve in one place so I don't have to track them down to hang out.
- My life is boring because I just work a lot.

| Highlights of My Life: - I realized that I can use bullet points in my posts - That is definitely a highlight.
- Lisa Adams called me from Hungary - I am very excited that she called. I am even more excited that she will be coming back from Hungary and not staying another year. The next line should say I'm really excited about her moving to Raleigh when she gets back, but I may be moving away next August.
- I am still incredibly good at playing the role of third wheel - Ang and Sean are/were one of my favorite relationships in which I played this role. However, these days I am tagging along with Sam and Corey . . . a lot. Does that make me a loser? Or does it just mean that one of the people I hang out with most at work (Corey) has started dating a new friend of mine who is all about calling up and making plans (Sam). I prefer to think the second. I don't want to be a loser.
- Work is nothing to write home about - Still hostessing in the morning and waiting tables two to three nights a week. It's not too exciting. I did manage to wait tables on Thursday while staying clocked in as a hostess so I made $12 an hour plus tips. That was fun. Oh and I did the managers a favor by picking up Thursday night but only if they gave me a 20 top, which they did so I made $80 off one table. Okay, maybe a few things to write home about.
- I still lose to Jared at Tiger Woods golf pretty much everytime we play - It's a bit more competitive if we play off the medium tees because his character's a boy so it can drive farther than my female character. Nonetheless, I still lose.
- Ordering pizza is way too expensive - I don't think it should cost me $15 dollars for two medium pizzas. That's ridiculous. And I still had to go pick it up, but at least that way I didn't have to tip.
- A good book is hard to come by - I never considered myself a picky reader. Give me a fiction book and usually I'm set. It doesn't have to be great. Heck, it doesn't usually even have to be good. Unfortunately I am going to have to say that Guideposts books are severely lacking, at least in general. On the upside, I don't have to pay for them, which is good because my reading habit can get expensive. Too bad I am having a really hard time getting into them.
Umm, I'm done for now. There you go Kristin, my most devoted xanga reader. Something else to entertain you on a quiet Monday morning in your cubicle. However would you survive the work week without me? | | |
